The Vision Behind the Institute
James Debrow is a Wartime Service Period Vietnam War combat armed forces expeditionary soldier. His military service in the U.S. Army, USAR, and TMD-SG included the ranks of Private, Private First Class, Specialist, Chief Warrant Officer, First Lieutenant, Battle Captain, Captain, and Company Commander. A senior police executive leader, Debrow now serves as President of the Police Executives Law Enforcement Institute, LLC, and is commissioned by the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS).

Debrow is a 10th Dan Black Belt Grandmaster, certified in multiple martial arts styles. He holds the title of Grandmaster Board & Lifetime Membership with the American International Kajukenbo-Gung Fu Association and serves as Professor of Martial Arts & Sōke at the James Debrow Fighting Tiger School, LLC. His training spans ancestral and international martial arts, including Moo-Duk Tae-Kwon Do, Shorinji-Kempo, Kyokushin Kai-Kan, Shoto-Kan, Hapkido, Aikido, Japanese Goju, and Kung-Fu.
Combat Skills With a Fitness Edge
Apart from his martial arts expertise, Debrow holds multiple certifications in fitness and combat sports. He is a certified personal trainer through the Cooper Institute and a former Texas Department of Public Safety Defensive Tactics Coordinator. He also serves on the Advisory Council of Legitimacy for the Spiritual Kungfu Association. This combination of martial arts mastery and personal training experience allows him to provide comprehensive, disciplined, and highly effective training programs.
